ABOUT PULASKI COUNTY FIRE COMMISSION

The Pulaski County Fire Commission was formed in 1981 and is located on a 14 acre tack of land with a training facility and 4 other buildings. The main building is the training building, a maintenance building for the counties fire trucks, a storage building, the newest building has classrooms for training and a 5 story training tower for high access training. The Commission is comprised of 16 local fire departments, 10 substations, 2 Rescue Squad stations and a Special Response Team/Hazmat.

Pulaski County Fire Commission is set up to be the liaison between the Pulaski County Fiscal Court and the Fire Departments. Pulaski County Fiscal Court manages, maintains and funds the Pulaski County Fire Commission using funds created from an Insurance Premium Tax collected from insurance providers in the county.

The Pulaski County Fire Commission meets on the third Monday every at 7:30 pm at the Hal Rogers Fire Training Center.  Each of the individual departments has a representative in attendance at the meeting.

Every spring there is a fire school training held and hosted at the Fire Training Center.
